Our story
Wigan Athletic have chosen Cancer Research UK as the club’s official charity partner for 2020. Alongside Wigan Athletic Community Trust, we will provide support to Cancer Research UK, who are the world’s leading charity dedicated to saving lives through research. Over 1,900 people in Wigan are diagnosed with a type of cancer each year. Today, 2 in 4 people survive their cancer for at least 10 years. Cancer Research UK’s ambition is to accelerate progress so that by 2034, 3 in 4 people will survive their cancer for at least 10 years, giving more tomorrows for more people.
