Our story
The Virtual Bark For Life Nottingham is a sponsored dog walk raising money for Cancer Research UK. This year we are asking participants and their pooches to undertake a 5km walk near their home over the weekend of the 15th and 16th May 2021. COVID-19 threatens to make our ambition of improving cancer survival to 3 in 4 by 2034 more difficult. As the pandemic continues, our need for support has never been greater. Funding cuts as a result of the pandemic will mean we make fewer discoveries, fund fewer trials, and produce fewer therapies and diagnostic innovations to help beat cancer. Despite COVID-19, we won’t stop working towards making progress for people affected by cancer, and your support can help us fund life-saving research. Over the past 8 years the Nottingham Bark For Life has raised over £60K which has helped fund life-saving research, to prevent, diagnose, and optimise cancer treatments.
