Our story
The Selkirk Local Committee are a dedicated and passionate group who have been fundraising for Cancer Research UK since 1966. In October 2016, committee member, Elaine Monro whilst out for coffee with friends and surrounded by tartan scarves had the idea of the creating one in aid of Cancer Research UK. The committee teamed up with Lochcarron of Scotland to produce an exclusive tartan using the charity’s colours. The tartan has been registered with the Scottish Register of Tartans and since then over 10,000 lambswool scarves have been woven. This incredible idea has led to a range of tartan products being produced by the committee. It is the perfect gift for a loved one who has been touched by cancer. 100% of profits are donated to Cancer Research UK.
