Our story
The Alfreton and District Committee for Cancer Research UK was formed in 1975. Since then the committee has raised well in excess of £1million pounds for the charity. Our events are many and varied from afternoon teas, flower demonstrations, bucket collections, quizzes and stalls at local events. In 2009 our then chairman, Pam McCane-Whitney was awarded an MBE for her services to the charity. We are a small group of local people and always welcome new members.
