On Saturday 2nd October 2021 we will be taking part in the cancer research Shine ✨ Night Walk in Cambridge. We are 3 colleagues who work on reception at The Woodlands Centre Haematology/oncology at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. Working alongside Haematology consultants and Cancer Nurse Specialist in haematology, we see many patients that have been diagnosed with lymphoma and are trying to raise awareness and funds for research to help fight/cure this disease. Lymphoma is cancer that starts in the lymph glands or other organs of the lymphatic system. There are two broad classes-Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) there are more than 60 types of NHL and it is the 6th most common cancer in the UK with around 13,900 new cases each year.
