Story
Lisa Deacon - Without the marvellous work and dedication of cancer research my mum wouldn’t be here today. My daughter summed it up perfectly when we told her her beloved nanny had breast cancer. She said ‘don’t worry they can treat it and make her better’. Cancer isn’t the death sentence it used to be and that is down to cancer research. Not everyone is as lucky. I’m raising money to make sure that in the future everyone is as fortunate as my wonderful, beautiful mum. Please give whatever you can. Kelly Stentaford - I lost my beautiful mum Irene to lung cancer 10 years ago. It really is hard to believe that she has been gone for so long and not a day goes by where I don’t miss her. To add to my pain , my wonderful mother-in-law Kim was taken from us 2 years ago at the age of 55, also from lung cancer. So my walk is in their memory and I know that they will be with me every step of the way. Any donation will really make a difference. Thank you Lisa Cobbett - After first beating prostate cancer, 2 years ago my dad, John was diagnosed with Melanoma which has subsequently spread to lymph nodes and lungs. Pioneering immunotherapy treatment has had a good effect so far but it’s the positive way he has dealt with his illness (even shaving his head for charity) that is my inspiration for this walk. So many affected by this disease and along with my amazing friends I want to raise as much money as possible to help the charity continue its amazing work. Please give what you can. Thank you.
