We're raising as much as we can to beat cancer

Story

Cancer is happening right now, which is why we're fundraising right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose! Donate today and help bring forward the day when all cancers. My Story (Vikki) The worst year of my life was the year I was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer I was 36 years old engaged to my soul mate with whom I have two beautiful children with. Being told you have Cancer (just saying that word makes me not only feel breathless but makes all my hairs on my face and neck stand on end). To remove the Cancer in 2018 I underwent a Radical Hysterectomy and removal of lymph nodes in the surrounding areas. It’s now 2022 and I am 40, thankfully currently free from Cancer! 4 years on, I feel so grateful to be fit and well. There are far too many who are still fighting Cancer and so many gone before us who have sadly lost there fight 😢. Whilst I am so grateful to be on the other side, the fear of the Cancer coming back frightens me. I have nightmares that one day it will get me! As it did my Dad after having initially being diagnosed with throat cancer and surviving then many years later having devastatingly passed away from bowel cancer (he was a wonderful man my dad). With the help of my family and friends I am taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise awareness and some much needed funds for Cancer Research! Such an important Charity which is so close to my heart. When you see the statistics 1 in two of us will get Cancer. I will be running with my amazing Cousin Rachel and one of my closest friends Lucy who each have there own touching stories and reasons for supporting this very important Charity. Please give what your can to support us 💗 it means so much. Rachel’s story My first experience of cancer was as a young child when I lost my dear Auntie Cynthia, she was only 41 yrs old with 3 children who were left to grow into adults without her. Over the years Cancer kept dipping in and out of my life. It took my larger than life Uncle John ( who I miss every day ) and my uncle David. My lovely Evans family have also had so many sad losses to Cancer. Then the most terrifying thing happened, it was the turn of my amazing mum to have her time to battle Cancer. She was courageous and strong and won her battle, which I am so grateful for every single day. She is joined by my superstar cousin Vikki who also battled Cancer, won the fight and continues to be an inspiration to me. Last year during the pandemic we lost my Auntie Jane. She was funny and kind and had the biggest heart. Her battle with cancer was short and tragic. We all miss her so much and she had so much more of life left to live. Please help us to raise lots of money so we have more loved ones like my mum and my mucka Vikki who beat this awful disease and now live life to the full Thank you for donating it’s so appreciated xx Lucy’s story - In March i will be running the Cardiff half Marathon with one of my besties Vikki and her lovely cousin Rachel. We are Raising money for Cancer research, a charity that is very close to my heart. Last June my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer, i was with my mum when the consultant confirmed that it was cancer. I couldn't believe it. My mum was so calm and brave and i'm so proud of her and what she has overcome. Cancer is such a horrible disease and effects us all in some way. If you can give a little donation we would really appreciate it
