Story
August 2018 was a month that was to change my life. Being diagnosed with bowel cancer at only 39 is not something you expect. The thought of leaving my girls without a mum, Scott without a wife, my parents without a daughter and my sister without an annoying little sister was not something I would accept. I made the decision to have a massive op which should save my life, unfortunately although the surgery was successful it had spread locally to some lymph nodes meaning I needed chemotherapy. Never have I endured something so tough, getting through the surgery was a breeze by comparison. I am so far one of the lucky ones whose cancer is now at bay, regular blood tests and scan will now be the norm for a while and every illness twinge a worry that it has returned. Without charities like this raising money to help find that elusive cure/better treatment I wouldn't be here today. Please help raise as much money as we can to fight this bastard called cancer x Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work.
