Story

VENATOR - WHITE END TEAM 3 PEAKS CHALLENGE All individuals within our team have been affected by Cancer at sometime in their lives. Over the last couple of years we have seen multiple team members being impacted by cancer, either personally or through loved ones. On the 22nd July, Scott Dunne, Adam Ford, Cameron Watson, John Cowens, Josh Mitton, Mark Ayre, Robert Ellwood, Russ Warrior, Peter Cooke, Jon Hills, Nick Britnell, Adam Smith, James Graham will challenge themselves physically and mentally to complete the 3 peaks challenge within a 48hr period. - The clock will start when we start to climb Ben Nevis and end when we have come down from Snowdon. BEN NEVIS The highest of the three mountains is Ben Nevis standing at 4,413 ft. above sea level. The famous peak, part of the Grampian Mountain range, was once a huge active volcano, which exploded and collapsed in on itself millions of years ago. Ben Nevis attracts thousands of visitors every year, the views from the summit really are breath-taking! SCAFELL PIKE The second peak of the Three Peaks Challenge is Scafell Pike; the highest mountain in England at 3,209 ft. above sea level. Despite being the lowest summit of all three peaks, it is arguably one of the hardest; with a rocky steep ascent. However, Scafell Pike is situated within one of the most stunning locations in the UK – the beautiful Lake District, surrounded by tranquil lakes and awe-inspiring mountain ranges. SNOWDON Finally, Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, standing tall at 3,560 ft. above sea level. The name Snowdon means ‘snow hill’ and snow can often be seen covering parts of the mountain. The views from the summit are spectacular – on a clear day you will be lucky enough to have views of Snowdonia, Anglesey, Pembrokeshire and Ireland! Located in Snowdonia National Park, the mountain is said to be the mythical resting place of the giant Rhita Gawr, who was killed by King Arthur. Snowdon is the perfect mountain to end the Three Peaks challenge on! Cancer is happening right now, which is why we're fundraising right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose!
