Story
Vicki & I have taken on this veg pledge as cancer has touched both of lives, directly & indirectly. Karyn - In March 2018 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 bowel cancer which came as a big shock to me. I had an op in April to remove the tumour, followed by 9 months of chemo. I am now in remission having regular check ups. As you can imagine, this has affected my whole life in ways that I never thought possible. It not only affected me, it impacted on the lives of my family and friends too. You only have one life and need to live it to the full, be positive and look at everything that is good. The small things really do not matter!! Vicki - In July of this year, after many months of illness, my mum was finally diagnosed with multiple myeloma which is a form of incurable blood cancer. She has already had to have a blood transfusion to offset the symptoms. The future is uncertain but I would like to think that raising money for research will help others. It is unlikely that a cure will be found in time to help my mum but we must keep trying. If there is one thing that we have learnt it is that cancer can happen to anybody. Research is absolutely vital in the fight to prevent this devastating disease and bring hope to those who are suffering. Donate today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Donating through these pages is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
