Story
I've done quite a few events over the years to raise money for various charities and while I'm proud of all of them, I've decided to take another challenge; The Shine Marathon Walk. I've been a hairdresser all my working life and though the majority of my clients come to see me for make overs, coffee and catch ups, some of my clients see me on their darkest days and instead of asking me to tousel their hair they're asking me to take it off completely before the affects of their treatment for Cancer strip them of the choice. I've cried with those clients and we've embraced how brave they are and, when they ring that bell to tell the world their treatment is finished, they come back to me and we talk abut all they've done while styling their new hair. Also working alongside a member of our team who sadly is battling this disease. I'm under no illusions that this challenge will push me mentally and physically but I'm ready for it and while I'm walking with everyone else we'll laugh and remember all those who we love who have been impacted by this disease.
