Story
So 15 years ago this race changed my life. It's what started my running journey. Having not run since school, I embarked on the Couch to 5K program with my lovely friend Clare and I ran my first 5k! I've not run consistently since then and have fallen in and out of love with running since then but this event was always responsible for pulling me back; It was my first race with Zoë in the buggy when she was 6 months old. A great target for a sleep-deprived Mum to aim for! This year I'm running with a group of school Mum's as our lovely friend is currently undergoing treatment for cancer and is being so brave and just simply amazing. Some of us will run it, some will walk, some are starting their very own running journey and are doing C25K to achieve it. However we cross that line we will ace it and do her proud! I'm not one to ask for sponsorship normally, especially for something that I don't consider a personal challenge. But this is different. It will be an emotional roller-coaster. Too many good people are taken by this horrid disease. We must do all we can to find a cure. As well as running on the day I've also used my Run Leader skills to help and support other Mums new to running to undertake the Couch to 5K course so that they can take on the challenge and run their first 5k on the day. So please, add a couple of pounds to my page. I'd really appreciate it. Let's kick Cancer's arse!! 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
