Story
In March this year I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. I was very lucky, my prognosis was good – I’d need surgery followed by radiotherapy and long-term medication. Nevertheless, hearing the words ‘you have breast cancer’ knocked me for six, and I won’t deny the last few months have been really difficult. Thankfully I’m on the road to recovery, but I will be regularly monitored for the next few years. I’m so incredibly grateful for the specialist care and support I have received, and I’m fully aware that without the life-saving research carried out by Cancer UK, my story could have been so so different. This is why me and my beautiful blonde friends Gemma and Helen are doing the Shine Night Walk as we want to help raise as much money for Cancer UK as possible, so they can continue their excellent work and save the lives of many more people struck by this horrible disease.
