We're raising as much as we can to beat cancer in children

Story

At the young age of 5, Neive was diagnosed with a form of children's cancer which resulted in her being hospitalised in September 2022. Neive spent 3 months in Birmingham Children's Hospital undergoing intensive chemotherapy treatment, before moving to Manchester at Christmas to undergo Proton Beam Therapy at The Christie hospital, spending 6 weeks living away from home. In April 2023 we received the news everyone had been praying for, the cancer had significantly shrunk and there were no signs of active cancer cells. Neive has since moved onto maintenance chemotherapy and has begun bouncing back to the lively, energetic, cheeky character she always was. Before cancer, Neive was a keen runner and believe it or not, whilst undergoing therapy she found great pleasure in having a little run on the hotel treadmill. As she's begun to build up her strength again, Neive wants show off her fighting spirit and take on this years Race for Life. Her family and friends will join her in this great achievement and will fundraise to help conquer cancer for all those poor children going through what Neive has. This will be our second fundraiser, following a charity gig night where Neive joined 'Mojo Rising' for a singalong (another favourite hobby of Neive's), raising a fantastic £725 for Wards 18 & 19 at Birminghams Children Hospital, as a thank you for the amazing work they are doing. Neive has shown a remarkable fighting spirit from the minute she was diagnosed, defying all the odds and capturing the hearts of those around her, with her infectious humour and will but most importantly her love of life even through the most difficult times. "Real heroes live in the hearts of small children fighting big battles"
