Story
In support of our friend and former colleague Jess, a team of 14 from our Bury branch are taking part in the 5k Race for Life Pretty Muddy event on Sunday, 15th June. The team will be climbing, crawling, and sliding their way around a mud-filled obstacle course to raise money for Cancer Research UK, while also highlighting the importance of self-checks and seeking medical advice. Jess' Story: After tragically losing her mum to cancer at the end of 2024, Jess, a fellow RVN and former colleague, was devastated to find a lump and receive her own breast cancer diagnosis just a few months later. At only 29 years old, Jess has shown incredible strength and positivity throughout this challenging journey, and she is determined to overcome this awful disease. Jess is currently midway through her chemotherapy, and despite undergoing multiple procedures and diagnostics, she continues to care for animals at work. She also takes time to support others facing similar battles and advocates for the importance of checking yourself if you notice anything abnormal.
