Story
A few years ago, my mum, the legendary (Disco) Donna Marsh was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL). Today she is undertaking her first round of a chemotherapy drug treatment; a daunting task that she is tackling head on with her characteristic good humour. Whilst we can’t share the burden of this treatment with Donna, Kit and I did want to do something to support the work of Cancer Research who identified the very treatment she will be undertaking. So, we have decided to join Cancer Research’s Shine Night Walk on the night of the 21 September 2019. Those of you who know us can attest to the fact that we aren’t the most active couple. A quick trot around the block with Gus followed by a boozy pub lunch is about as active as it gets, so this is going to be a real challenge for us. We will walk 26.2 miles in total. That’s the equivalent of walking from London Waterloo to Woking, or from Oakville to Toronto. Or doing the late night Tesco wine run a thousand times over. We will depart at 7pm and, if my trick leg can sustain a brisk pace, will finish around 7am. That’s 12 hours of non-stop walking. Non. Stop. Walking. We’d be so thankful for any donations you can make. We’ve asked for the money to go towards research for Leukaemia and other blood related cancers. Every penny you donate will help to spur us on through each gruelling mile through the city. Let’s smash this! Thank you for your support. David and Kit X
