Story
Team Tina was created in 2007 with our friend Tina Pinkney as our group leader. Tina at the time had fought breast cancer and had gone into remission but then cruelly found out that she had metastatic cancer. It had spread into her spine and liver. Tina managed a painful walk around the course in 2008, determined to show cancer it can be beaten. We all enrolled again for 2009 as Team Tina but Tina agreed she would not and could not face the course again... unbeknown to her she didn't have to, Tina died April 2009. We all carried on, with the same determination as Tina had the previous year but to keep the Team going. It is now 10 years since we lost Tina, 12 years as Team Tina. We will carry on beating cancer, remembering Tina and remembering all our other family and friends that we have lost as well. Cancer is happening right now, which is why we are all taking part in a Race for Life to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work. Thank you
