Story
You think cancer is something that happens to other families, other people - but you never truly understand how cruel and savage it is until the day it comes to you. In June 2017 it happened to us. Laura’s dad was just 61, a man in his prime, still working and looking forward to retirement with his wife Karen when we got the devastating news that he had Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer. His fight was short but severe and unfortunately we said our goodbyes just a few weeks later. Survival rates of pancreatic cancer have barely changed as it manifests itself as so many other illnesses and devastatingly it’s often discovered too late. We are raising funds for Cancer Research to try and change this - and hopefully save other families from going through the same heartbreak. Alan ironically worked for Cancer Research - a job he absolutely loved! So we know he’ll be so proud of our fundraising for a cause so close to his heart. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and every single £1 donated means so much 😇
