Story
This is our families story, In July 2017 my husband Keith was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin Lymphoma, as a family we were devastated but his prognosis was good and Keith, myself and the children felt positive that Keith could beat this. Keith was a fighter and didn't know the meaning of giving up. Keith started his R-Chop Chemotherapy followed by 3 weeks of Radiotherapy. The beginning of February 2018 Keith was rushed in hospital with stroke like symptoms, a head scan showed that Keith had a tumor in his brain, further scans showed that the Lymphoma was in in 3 different places in his brain as well as his spine, we were told it was inoperable and that Keith was terminal. Keith did 2 weeks of whole brain Radiotherapy and was put on steroids to help keep the tumor reduced. We were told that Keith was roughly looking at between 6 & 12 months. Keith never gave up he kept on fighting and lasted 2 years 8 months after being told he was terminal, during this time he even fought and beat an aggressive form of skin cancer. Sadly Keith lost his fight on the 19th October 2020. Keith always believed that one day there would be a cure for Cancer and every month Keith donated to cancer research which i continue to do for him. Myself and the children are doing the Race for Life this year in memory of Keith who was an amazing husband, Dad and a friend to all, who no matter how much pain he was in always had a smile on his face.
