Story
We meet as a group for the first time in November 2017 with one thing in common; we were all expecting babies in early 2018. As a group of mothers, we have shared some of the most exciting, thrilling and draining experiences that being new mothers sent our way. We were all so appreciative of one another; there is nothing like having a fellow mum awake in the middle of the night when your little bundle of joy is far from joyful (unless joyful now means screaming their tiny angry heads off). Nine weeks into motherhood and one of our number was dealt a devastating blow when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Emma has undergone surgery, six rounds of chemotherapy and fifteen sessions of radiotherapy. Through all of this Emma has been truly heroic; not only did she manage the cold cap but she also looked cancer squarely in the face with real guts and grit. Each and everyone one of our group has been in total awe of the way Emma has been so humble, so strong and so dignified. She is such a determined and positive role model for her daughter. At the end of what Emma has described as ‘a tough old year’ she is through the other side! Whoop whoop. As a group we are dragging ourselves around the Pretty Mudder course to raise essential money for crucial research so this awful disease can be kicked into touch once and for all. Dig deep guys and sponsor the proud members of Team Emma. Big love and heartfelt thanks for donations
