Story
I took part in my first race in 2008 following the passing of Sue Cartwright who had battled cancer. Sue was my mum's best friend. When I was 14 my Mum was killed and Sue and her husband Dave gave me and my brother a home, without hesitation. I can never repay this act of kindness. Sue later battled cancer, unfortunately she passed away in 2007. I wanted to do something in her honour so I started taking part in race for life in her memory. Sadly, last year, Dave was taken by cancer so this year me and Jen take part in memory of them both. Also Jenny is taking part in memory of Miss Marilyn who tragically passed away last year. And as it's my 10th consecutive year we are doing the 10k. I am not fit and I don't run, I will probably walk most of it but as long as we cross that finish line it doesn't matter!
