Story
Alfie and I are doing race for life in memory of my beautiful mum and his granny. Mum was first told she has breast cancer back in 2009 and after having surgery we had the amazing news that she was all clear. Then in 2017 we were given the devastating news that despite all of her other health problems they had found a tumour in her pancreas and that because of other medical conditions all they could offer was palliative treatment. As a family we were completely broken but through all of it she remained her funny, strong, loving and supportive self. I remember saying to her “why you?” To which she replied “why not me sweetheart” despite doctors thoughts, my brave mum fought for a further 12 months from diagnosis. She passed away surrounded by her loved ones on 2nd September 2018. My mum was my very best friend and my greatest champion, she supported me through everything and was the first one to offer hugs and reassurance, there is a massive Angela shaped hole in our lives now but I know she’s looking over us. This will be the first year she won’t be at the finishing line for race for life as last year even though she couldn’t be there in person she faced timed. If you can please donate to Team Angela. Thanks for reading Leanne and Alfie xxx
