We're raising as much as we can to beat cancer

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. We as a family are doing 100 skips a day in February to help raise money for Cancer Research UK in memory of Paul Nicholas (Skippy). It is hard to believe that it is nearly two years since Paul tragically passed away. Cancer, a metastatic melanoma that spread to the lymph nodes was the initial reason that Paul became unwell with the added complication of a rare autoimmune disease, dermatomyositis which affects the skin and muscles including the ability to swallow. Following the removal of the affected lymph nodes in early January, Paul shortly after became very poorly and we discovered that the cancer had spread to his lungs, liver and bones. It spread within a matter of weeks and we are all still very much in shock at how quickly the cancer progressed. It is important to us that Paul’s memory lives on and this is just one of the ways in which we would like to do this, by ‘Skipping for Skippy’.
