Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work. In 2015 I was diagnosed with stage 1B1 cervical cancer. I was 21 and had never been for a smear test. I was told by a friend that I should of had one by this age and I phoned immediately to book one. My diagnosis came as such a shock as did the treatment that followed. After a hysterectomy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and brachytherapy I was eventually given the all clear. I am so lucky and forever grateful that I managed to beat cancer and I want to help those that may be in the same position that I once was.
