Story

Our Billy! We are running the Great South Run in memory of our dear Billy, who was taken far too soon in March of this year after a very tough battle with cancer. The cancer was very aggressive and unfortunately, further treatment was not possible due to the short time he had to battle this disease, Billy was a fighter and showed strength till the end. Billy was the best dad, husband,brother, son, grandad and friend and was the type of person who would do anything for anyone. Billy was known for being determined and extremely hardworking, and we know he will be looking down on us with this energy to get us to the finish line. We hope to raise as much money as we can to help others with cancer get the correct treatment, care and support they deserve. Please donate so Cancer Research can make this possible. Memories that will last a lifetime and will help us finish the Great South Run. James - I have had the pleasure of knowing Bill for 47 years through school and just being the best of mates doing caravan holidays with all our kids and having the best times in Ibiza 🤣 I still can’t work it out why Bill has been taken from us and we will never have the pleasure of being with Bill ever again. Well, it’s just over 4 weeks till myself and my daughter Laura take on the Great South Run for Cancer Research. So can I ask whatever you can spare, pls donate. Billy never had the chance of being helped by this brilliant charity due to the cancer being so aggressive. We love you our Billy and always will 💙💙 Laura - My fondest memories of Billy are on our family camping trips, he was always a comedian to laugh with and at. One time we went rock pooling and Billy chose to wear flip flops despite us all in trainers telling him not to. Of course Billy was the one to slip and cut his feet up with blood everywhere 😅 he got up, had a giggle and got on with it as he always did with a smile on his face. Thank you for all the memories we will treasure forever as a family. We miss and love you 💙💙 and if you are free on 18th October to come down and help and cheer and abuse me as ill need it as my training has not be going to plan , iv run about 6m in the last two months but have been keeping fit on the squash cts so should be fine and thinking of the times we had dancing and drinking and just enjoying life ( love ya bill ) , my Laura on the other hand has been smashing the training and today and just over 4 weeks to go has just run 13k in good time ...
