Story
John and I are walking the 10km Norwich Shine charity walk! We have paid to take part so all donations will go straight to charity. But that is not all. Over September and October, Nat is also running the Norwich Run 10 km race, then together, we are taking on the ‘Only The Brave’ 10km mud run for the East Anglian Air Ambulance (https://www.gofundme.com/f/only-the-brave-mudrun-2024), before Nat runs the Robin Hood Half Marathon (her first half!!) and only then, we conclude with this Night Shine walk. We’d love it if you supported us in these undertakings with your donation to either charity! Want to donate, have some fun and be in the chance of winning a prize? Well, we’ve got you! It’s simple - guess how many steps we will take ALTOGETHER across the events. Closest guess wins a £30 One4All voucher- £5 per guess and one guess per person. Remember - you’re guessing the number of steps across: Nat’s 10k run + John & Nat 10k mud run + Nat’s half marathon run + John & Nat 10 km Night Walk. That’s total of 71 km so doing the step math couldn’t be easier… Confused by the guessing game?! Fear not, as we’re also running a raffle for a £20 Waterstone's voucher. 1 entry for every £2 donated with no limits on the number of entries per person. Can I enter both? - YES! let’s say you donate £9 - £5 will be for your step guess, and the remaining £4 will get you 2 raffle entries. And this applies to whichever charity you donate to. You can donate to £5 to Cancer Research for your guess, and £6 to EEAA for 3 raffle entries. Winners will be contacted on 6th October 2024. Entry deadline is at midnight on 5th October. ** small IMPORTANT disclaimer - you cannot be entered into the guessing game or the raffle if you donate with Gift Aid. This is because, legally, Gift Aid can only be added to 'free will' donations, not when you could get something in return. Please select the option WITHOUT Gift Aid if you'd like to participate. ** Note: John’s employer will be matching donations up to a certain amount! Though unfortunately they have to pay the charity directly so any amounts on the pages will most likely be double! Why are we fundraising for Cancer Research? It’s hard to find someone whose life hasn’t been touched by cancer. Cancer is happening right now, and it can happen to anyone. We need urgent research to learn how to detect cancer early and how to treat it effectively to prevent, and the work of Cancer Research is crucial in achieving this.
