Story
My name is Agata and I run My true fitness - training classes for women and men in Blackpool UTC Gym. Sadly cancer is not avoiding people who exercise or eat healthy. Some of my amazing clients won their battle with cancer and recovered, slowly returned to training, some have come out stronger than ever as they truly know their power now and nothing can stop them.. I decided to join this challenge because... In August 2023 I lost my grandad after his 2 year battle with pancreatic cancer - he was the most beautiful soul and I still miss our Sunday Skype conferences. My dad lost his dad and it hit him very hard and he could not shake it off. Dad decided to fully retire at 62 and enjoy life, when he got his diagnosis. He had a rare form of liver cancer and there was no specific treatment available due to the type of cancer. My dad lost his battle in March 2024. It was without a doubt the most difficult experience of my life. We watched a strong, fit man fade over 12 months and there was little we could do. I decided to create a team for the squat challenge and share it with my clients and friends. The research says that 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in their lifetime and that means that nearly everyone knows, will know someone with cancer or who have been through it, or someone who lost someone to it.. In a way, we are all survivors so we should all be kind and most of all support each other - so no-one has to experience this illness alone. Let's grow this team as we join the challenge so we can all come together and make sure more of us feels comfortable talking about it. And that thanks to research more of us beats cancer for good! So please share, donate and watch our team support each other and complete 100 squats a day all the way through August. Much Love, Aggie Cancer is happening right now, which is why we're fundraising right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose! Donate today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Donating through these pages is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
