We're raising as much as we can to beat cancer

Story

Dona & I are combining efforts to raise money for Cancer Research by taking part in the Shine Night Walk in Cambridge on 17th October! This walk is deeply personal for both of us. For me, cancer has hit close to home in so many ways over the past year. Several people extremely close to my heart - along with my partner's family - have faced difficult diagnoses and we've tragically lost loved ones along the way. In the last few weeks alone, a close family friend received a diagnosis and sadly died just a few weeks later, whilst another is navigating life with this terrible disease. To top off an incredibly difficult period, even my sweet cat is currently receiving palliative chemotherapy. For Dona, the past year has also been incredibly difficult. This walk is in memory of her dear friend who passed away last year from a rare and aggressive cancer, while other friends continue to fight their own battles with the disease. Sadly, cancer touches so many lives. We know that many of our colleagues have faced their own battles, heartbreak and losses, either personally or through loved ones. Together, we are walking for everyone in our lives who has been affected by cancer, and to help support the vital research that gives hope to so many families.
