We will be running the Race for Life Pretty Muddy on Saturday 14 July, 10.30am at Worcester Race Course. Lydia's story: I will be running in memory of my dad, Chris Bates, who sadly passed away earlier this year after suffering from Paraganglioma, a rare form of cancer. Whilst treatment for this type of cancer was available, like many others, it was not available on the NHS and was incredibly expensive. Cancer Research UK (CRUK) do ground breaking and life saving research that helps make treatments like this available to all. Please give as much or little as you can to enable CRUK to continue their life changing research. All donations will be hugely appreciated, thank you. Chelsea's story: I will be running in support of my wonderful and strong friend Lydia and her family, who tragically lost their dad and husband Chris Bates earlier this year to cancer. I will also be running in memory of my Auntie Pat who lost her own short battle with cancer in 2016. The work that Cancer Research UK do means that I am lucky enough to say that my mum is a survivor, and has been cancer free now for 15 years. But too many people are not that lucky. Cancer Research UK enable life saving treatments to be developed and survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. However, there is still work to be done to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.
