Story
My mum Julia and I have decided very spur of the moment to take part in the Edinburgh Race for Life at the end of this week. This is a cause very close to both of our hearts, as this is not the first Race for Life that we have done. We also took part in one in 2006, where my auntie Lorna walked alongside us. This time, we are walking without her. Three weeks after the 2006 race, Lorna was given the news that her secondary breast cancer had spread further and was terminal. This year, 2019, marks ten years since we lost one of the most vibrant, beautiful and loving people I have ever been lucky enough to know. I am incredibly grateful that I got to spend the years with her that I did, as I know that many people are not so lucky. We miss Auntie Lorna every single day, and I can only hope that by raising as much as we can, we can help Cancer Research to give people more precious time with their loved ones than we had. Julia and I are both so incredibly grateful for your help! Together, we WILL beat cancer. Cancer fights dirty, but my God, so do we! All our love, Lori and Julia xx
