Cancer has affected so many of the people we love; so we have decided to run the 10K in Enfield on the 11th of June to raise money in honour and memory of them, and to support Cancer Research. Liv: Grandad Smith saw the value in everyone, and believed that you could do anything you put your mind to. He loved sport and through his career as a sports lecturer taught so many students the skills of perseverance, self belief and determination. I was so lucky to have these values instilled in me by the love and support of my Grandad and will run this race to show him that I can do anything I put my mind to. Sophie: Grandad Howland was one of the biggest inspirations in my life. Even through the toughest of times he could find a way to bring light to a dark situation. He was incredibly selfless, and still remains one of the most thoughtful people I have ever known. Because of him I have aspired to have as much fun in life as he did. Quin: Grandmother Sotelo is one of the strongest people I know, and truly inspires me to live life to the fullest and work to overcome any obstacles in my path. She beat cancer, and demonstrated grace and perseverance throughout the time she was sick. I hope through supporting this cause we can ensure more people are able to do the same. We are not athletes. We are art students. We spend our days in studios designing... not running. We wear our Nike's with dungarees... not leggings. However the memory and inspiration of our Grandparents, and their attitude to sport and life, will act as our motivation to push ourselves and train, so that we can do them proud. Cancer has affected our lives and so many others in ways we couldn't have imagined but together we hope you can support us and donate to raise money and beat cancer!
