Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work. I lost my brother Nigel to Testicular Cancer at the age of just 24 back in 1990, If he had had this illness in 2023 his chance if survival would have been so much higher. I lost my dad Gordon to Multiple Myeloma at the age of 78 in 2014, he had the illness for 2 years or more but it sadly wasn't diagnosed until it was far too late. One of my best friends, Kim, who I am doing the 5K with, sadly lost her mum Patricia Harrison to Lung Cancer in October last year. We will be doing to 5K as a team, it will be lovely thing to do in memory of our loved ones, and in support of the charity that could hopefully in years to come eradicate the disease, with the help of charity events such as this. Help us beat this dreadful disease, which in some way or another will no doubt already have touched the lives of each and every one of us. Lets beat Cancer together...
