Story
Lorna's Story - Having been seemingly healthy when I got married in July 2017, 9 months later I was diagnosed with breast cancer, initially stage 2, then stage 3. I underwent treatment and surgery, however, 2019 started with the news that my cancer had progressed to stage 4. So here I find myself very happy, with a great life, wonderful husband, friends, family, in-laws, colleagues and a fantastic employer, but all the while with some pesky cancer in the background that affects aspects of my life. As a challenge, and to prevent my life whizzing by in another round of chemo cycles this year, I decided to sign up to the 10k Race for Life and 15 lovely people have signed up to join me. I train when I can, but accept I may not be able to run it as chemo will be ongoing, still I will run what I can, walk the rest and hey, even if I end up being pushed in a wheelbarrow, I'll be there, sparkles and all! I am running for Metastatic Breast Cancer.
