Story
Most of us will know someone who has been affected by cancer one way or another. As a team we have been inspired by my sister Louise to raise as much money as we can for breast cancer research. Breast cancer research is a cause very close to my heart. Both my mum and my sister have been diagnosed with breast cancer, mum for the second time last year and my sister Louise only very recently. Mum, I am very thankful to say, with support and surgery has beaten it yet again and is living her life to the full with positivity and is going strong. Louise is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment for triple negative breast cancer. She is 39. She is beautiful and strong and she is a warrior. She is utterly determined to kick cancers arse and if she can she plans to walk the half marathon with us. And knowing her she probably will! 1 in 8 women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. However thanks to vital research breast cancer survival is improving and has doubled over the last 40years.
