Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work. As many of you know we sadly lost our beautiful Nanny/Mum to esophagus cancer back in October 2021. My Nan was a fit healthy amazing woman who was suddenly diagnosed with this awful disease. My Nan was one of the most beautiful caring people who got to walk this earth, she touched the hearts of many people after spending her whole life as a career, watching people take their last breaths until it then became our time to watch her take hers. We had no idea we would only have her for 10 weeks from her diagnosis, watching your loved one fight for their life until the end is one of the most painful experiences a person has to go through which is why me and my mum are taking on this challenge to raise awareness for not only esophagus cancer but for everyone who has had to go through this battle and loose a loved one. Esophagus cancer is one of the least talked about cancers, so this is our time to share some information and raise awareness. Esophagus cancer is formed in the tubes which links you’re mouth to stomach, most common symptoms include acid reflux, which leads to not being able to swallow. For 10 weeks we watched our angel slowly stop being able to drink and eat, to then not being able to speak before she closed her eyes for the last time at home with her loved ones. So, on the 25th of May 2024 we will be completing the 5K muddy run-in honor of my Nan. We hope to help raise awareness and support to everyone who is going through this or has gone through it.
