Story
We are challenging ourselves to run the race for life together as we want to raise as much money as we can to help beat this awful illness. Our family has been affected by cancer in many ways: when we were both young girls, we lost our lovely, special grandparents. Our beautiful grandma was so strong and fought ovarian cancer for almost five years, but sadly cancer took her from us in the end. Only a few years later, our funny, silly grandad lost his battle with pancreatic cancer only a couple of months after being diagnosed. They were the loveliest, most caring grandparents and we love and miss them so much. Last year, our kind great auntie Edna Hardwick passed away from lung cancer and our great cousin Sarah Hayward lost her long battle with breast cancer. Both women were incredibly strong. Our great uncle Norman, great auntie Barbara and Kirsty's family friend Mick Argyle also sadly lost their lives to cancer. Rebecca's family friend Caroline Hastie who is like a second mum is currently fighting off breast cancer. She is a role model to us all. Rebecca herself has also had two small cancer scares and is very lucky to be all okay. She would encourage everyone to always go and get checked out and never ignore any symptoms. Just like us, everyone has been affected by cancer in some way. For this reason we want to do everything we can to raise as much money as possible to help beat cancer. If you can donate anything at all, it would be massively appreciated!
