Story

On Friday, December 19th, 6-year-old Amy was enjoying her last day of school before the holidays. Like any other little girl, she was healthy, happy, and excited for Christmas. By the following Monday, her world—and her family’s world—was shattered. What started as agonizing stomach pain led to an emergency admission to A&E. The news was every parent's worst nightmare: Amy has pancreatoblastoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that has also spread to her liver. While most families were settling in for Christmas Eve, Amy was beginning her first round of intensive chemotherapy. She spent Christmas Day—a day that should have been filled with toys and magic—recovering from treatment in a hospital bed. Since that week, Amy and her family have essentially been living out of the hospital in Cardiff. Amy is only six years old, yet she is fighting this battle with a bravery that is hard to put into words. We are a team of two mothers and two daughters racing together to stand with Amy. We are taking part in Race for Life to raise money for life-saving research, but more importantly, to show Amy and her family that they are surrounded by love and support. Our Goal We have set a target of £500. Every donation, no matter how small, is a message of love to Amy and her family, letting them know they are not alone in this fight.
