Story
Cancer is happening right now, and touches so many people in so many ways, including myself. My cancer story had always been that I sadly lost my mum when she was 40 to breast cancer, but now I am facing the same fight. Thankfully the last 25 years have been filled with research and fundraising to make sure that the treatment and support of those facing cancer and their familes has improved no end and I am lucky to be able to say that my cancer has been caught early and we are hopeful. As you probably know, I don't like running much so thought that taking part in Race for Life would be a good challenge, as I should be a couple of months out of treatment by July and will give me something to aim for, but also to raise funds for this important cause. I have found that I am truly blessed by having an amazing group of people in my life who are supporting me and my husband as we work our way though this path, and they have joined 'Team Jen' are all running, or walking with me. We'll be fundraising as a group so you if you find that know a few of us you can just make one donation to the team! 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work.
