Story
In July 2013, Janette was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent a lumpectomy followed by 6 months of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. In early 2017 her breast cancer had returned and she had secondary cancer in her hip and in her lung. Janette had to have a hip replacement followed by radiotherapy and then had to have 4 mths of chemotherapy to treat her lung. The cancer has reduced and Janette is currently on a hormone therapy to stop the cancer from growing and spreading. Treatments are advancing all the time and hopefully one day instead of " you have cancer we can't cure you but we can treat it and manage it.... “ it will be " You have cancer but don't worry we can get rid of it." 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
