Cancer is happening right now, which is why we taking part in a Race for Life to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work. We are running for Bowel/ Colon cancer. Unfortunately, between the both of us, we have lost Lewis’s uncle in 2022 and Bethaney’s mother in April from this disease. 1 in 15 men and 1 in 18 women will be diagnosed with bowel cancer during their lifetime. Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK. Almost 43,000 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer every year in the UK. There is a 90% survival rate if diagnosed in the localised stage - decreasing to 74% and unfortunately down to 17% if the cancer spreads to the surrounding tissue.
