Story

Cancer is happening right now, which is why we are taking part in a Race for Life to raise money and save lives. 2020 was a difficult year for everyone, but to receive a cancer diagnosis during this time was completely devastating. Last November Andrew was diagnosed with tongue cancer. This turned our lives upside down & inside out. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. But you never think it’s going to be you or your family member. Andrew’s cancer was caught early & following an 11hour operation at Derby Royal Hospital to remove part of his tongue the cancer was successfully removed. The fantastic team at Derby gave Andrew confidence & reassurance which made a big difference to his recovery & to us as a family. Now as it’s almost a year since our cancer journey began we want to give back and make a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work.
