Hi, we randomly decided to sign up for this one Sunday night and thought it would be a nice thing to do post-uni (might as well start losing weight after 3 years). But seriously, we want to run to raise awareness about cancer. Both of our families have been affected by cancer during our lives. 2 of James's uncles have had cancer, and sadly one of them (Barry - whom we have done the Leukaemia Bikeathon in his memory) lost his life after a long battle. Rachel has also experienced the affects of cancer throughout her life, as her brother survived cancer during his time at school. Also, in the past 6 months, her dad has just recovered from cancer. In light of experiencing close loved ones go through the hardship of this illness, we want to make a difference, and show them how inspiring these people are.
