Story
1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, I am now one of those people. I very recently recieved a diagnosis of breast cancer and I am currently going through Chemotherapy as the first part of my treatment plan, with surgery and radiotherapy to follow. For those of you who know me, I am not a runner (that is a enormous understatement!), however I wanted to do something to challenge myself (more than this cancer and treatment is!) and to support the work that has and is enabling me to make a full recovery. I am not undergoing this cancer journey alone and I am so massively fortunate to have a huge support network surrounding me and being there every step of this journey in so many many ways. I am not the first person to be affected by cancer and I unfortunately will not be the last, but this is my way of giving back for the care, support and medical treatment I am receiving. I totally understand and appreciate that you have your own charities and good causes that you support but if you are able to support me in any way you can that would be just amazing. If you wish to encourage and join any members of the team in training I'm sure we'd appreciate the motivation and company! If you wish to join the running team for the actual Race for Life, please do sign up and join us, the more the merrier! Cheer leaders on the day are also very much needed, certainly to keep me going!!! If you can financially support our fundraising target, thank you your donation is amazing and makes a difference trust me.
