He bravely underwent chemotherapy & a major operation to remove every trace of the stomach cancer which resulted in him also losing half a rib and 2/3 of his stomach. He amazed everyone as his brave fight and the amazing skills of his surgeon and the team of doctors and nurses meant he survived this very aggressive form of cancer! However, cancer came knocking again in 2015 when Glyn was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Sadly it had progressed and Glyn also had secondary cancer throughout his body. After getting over the shock Glyn rallied and determinedly tried everything to try to live as long as he possibly could to be there for his wife, 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He hoped that he would survive long enough for a cure to be found. He maintained a heroic positivity about his battle and always played down the effect and tremendous strain it was having on his body; all to avoid the great sadness that was engulfing his loved ones. We lost this great man, our rock, on January 3rd 2017 aged just 65. He may be gone but he'll never be forgotten. 3 generations of Glyn's Angels are doing the Race for Life in Glyn's memory; his daughters, grand daughters and great grand daughters (our team was formerly 4 generations but Chris dropped out for personal reasons).
