Just a few days ago on the 26th April 2017 as a family we found out that my Mam has Breast Cancer or "a gremlin" as she likes to call it, it's that phonecall that you absolutely dread but given current statistics you kind of expect to receive at some point in life from someone you are close to and we're still all trying to process it. Our family is certainly not a stranger to the old "C" with my Grandma having faced and survived it twice and is still going strong so if my Mam is anywhere near as stubborn as my Granny we know she's going to be just fine! There are still a number of tests to be done over the coming weeks and Mam has already been scheduled for surgery on the 26th May so we can't fault the doctors on how quickly they are acting to rid her of her gremlin! We're an extremely close family and step by step, test by test, treatment by treatment we will all travel the road ahead with her and pull her through this, support her through any dark days and make her laugh when she's feeling low. The news is still all very raw but we knew we needed to do something to show her we are all 100% behind her. Six of us family members, myself, my sisters, my auntie and my cousins are taking part in pretty muddy 2017 and we'd like to raise as much money as possible for the amazing work that cancer research do and to say to all of those who are going through this just how awesome they are, you're all warriors!!
