We have decided to do the Race for life for cancer research this year in loving memory of Shereen Evans. Shereen Evans was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, and auntie. She would go out of her way for everyone especially her two daughters Harley and Sadie who she thought the world of. Sadly in March 2019, Shereen received the news that she had breast cancer but was well up for the fight and was determined to combat it hand in hand with the support from her close family and friends. I and Harley both vowed to do the race for life from this point onwards but sadly in May, Shereen lost her battle to cancer after it spread to multiple areas of her body. This has been a deeply upsetting time for us all hence signing up to do the 5K a little later than what we anticipated. By completing the race of life, we are hoping that we can do our bit not only for the people who cared for Shereen but also to help fundraise money for the research of cancer in the hope that in a near future, much more can be done to help prevent Cancer from taking other families loved ones away far too early.
