Our mum, lost her battle with Lung cancer after a very short battle of only 7 months. This really puts into perspective, how precious and short life really is. Cancer not only destroys a person’s life, but their wellbeing and dignity. It has such a detrimental effect on all those that loved and cared for that special person. We were very close to our mum and the loss of a loved one is never easy, but for it to be your mum that you have known all your life, that looked after you, and was your best friend, is truly devastating. Watching your mum suffer day by day is traumatic enough, let alone having to accept the fact that they are no longer going to be around. We are not looking for sympathy or for you to feel sorry for us. We just don’t want others to have to go through the same traumatic experience.
