Story
We have been best friends for over twenty years, and have therefore experienced and been a part of many formative moments within each other’s lives. Sadly the loss of a parent to cancer was one of them; Emily’s Dad Pat in 2015, and Sarah’s mum Alison in 2018. Losing a parent to cancer is not something you expect to go through in your early twenties. However, having a friend who knows exactly what you are going through has helped, and we have been able to support each other throughout. We decided to do the London Landmarks Half Marathon and raise money for Cancer Research UK, as it provides crucial funding for the research and development of cures for this cruel and relentless disease. We also thought it would be a really positive challenge to do together in memory of our parents. Cancer is happening right now, which is why we're fundraising right now for Cancer Research UK.
