Hello! If you had told either of us a year ago that we would be opting into a 5k, I'm fairly confident we would have laughed solidly for a minute or so before running straight for the hills (figuratively of course, we couldn't even run for the bus if we tried). In short, it's no secret that sport isn't exactly our forte. Signing up to this year's Race for Life may then come as a surprise - trust me, it's a surprise to us too - and we couldn't be more honoured to be a part of this fantastic cause. We'd be so grateful if you can sponsor us as we raise money for this life-changing charity. EM- My Lola (Grandma in filipino) Melling was my great aunt and one of the strongest people I've known. This March my wonderful Grandma sadly lost both her sisters, two incredible women; with one of them being Lola Melling. Lola's determination even during the hardest of times continues to be a huge inspiration to our family, and her constant care for others, even while fighting stage four cancer a decade ago, still never ceases to amaze me. I literally wouldn't be where I am today without my Lola, and we all miss her so much. I couldn't be prouder to be running this race in her memory, and am so grateful have Charl by my side through it! CHARL- I'm so excited to be running by Emma’s side this year to remember her Lola Melling. Em is one of my best friends so supporting her as well as so many others who have been helped by this charity means the world. Cancer sadly affects so many lives, and I am in awe at the strength of both those affected by the disease itself and their loved ones who support them every step of the way.
