Eatyourgreens FC cycle for cancer research Cancer has impacted everyone in our 5aside team. Whether a lost family member, friend, or someone close overcoming a long, hard battle. The shocking statistic that one in two of us will develop cancer at some point in our lives highlights the urgent need for everyone to do what they can. We decided to jump on our bikes this September. Six members of our illustrious team will be cycling a combined 1800miles in September. As the club is now a global phenomenon, ex-players are scattered across the five continents taking tales of Brixton with them. Jake now resides in NZ. He will be pummelling the hills with his oversized legs and sun kissed stache. Dan’s £2 coin-sized nostrils will be battling the upwind across the provinces of Southern France. Ibiza PT Joe pulled out with two weeks to go so he could focus on ‘surfing and getting a tan’. He is now playing the pivotal role of team motivational speaker and trainer. That leaves Aaron, Josh, Tom and Marcus who will be in sunny London. We will probably be getting overtaken by serious cyclists on Kent and Surrey hills but hey, we’ll be having a pint afterwards.
